Date: March 8, 2025 – Venue: Nakyal Mohra Dharoti Ceasefire Line Sector
"ALERT"
An important press release has been issued regarding the public long march on March 23, 2025, concerning the Ceasefire Line Nakyal Mohra Dharoti.
Details:
A meeting was held by Jammu Kashmir NAP, Jammu Kashmir NSF Nakyal Union Council Mohra Dharoti Ceasefire Line Sector to discuss the release of Majnti Banday, the general issues of the Ceasefire Line Mohra Dharoti and Nakyal, and to open the entry point for the Ceasefire Line.
An Iftar party was hosted by the local unit, with dozens of CC members from Mohra Dharoti attending.
Important Decisions:
Important decisions were made for the March 23 Ceasefire Line Mohra Dharoti Long March. On March 15, a joint meeting will be held in Nakyal city, and a press conference will be organized to officially announce the schedule for March 23. The meeting will be hosted by Jammu Kashmir NSF and Jammu Kashmir NAP Nakyal.
Long March Route and Committees:
After March 15, a representative committee will visit the Ceasefire Line from Nakyal to Mohra Dharoti to determine the route for the long march and announce the schedule. In addition, organizing, welcoming, publicity, covering, rescue, media, and diplomatic committees have already been formed with assigned duties.
International Organizations and Authorities:
By March 15, letters and open letters will be sent to the United Nations, Indian and Pakistani authorities, international human rights organizations, rescue ambulance services, and the administration to cover, rescue, and monitor the public long march.
Demands Regarding Ceasefire Line:
In the meeting, it was demanded from the Indian and Pakistani state authorities to immediately remove all existing shelling, mines, and explosives from the Ceasefire Line and clear the path before March 23. This is necessary to ensure the public can cross or break the Ceasefire Line without facing any difficulties, and to avoid any loss of human lives.
It was also stated that our march is peaceful and will be joined by a large number of people. It was emphasized that thousands of families on both sides of the Ceasefire Line are deprived of their rights to move freely, meet loved ones, and maintain family connections. These people wish to travel freely across the Line, a right granted to us by the United Nations.
UN Passport and Free Access:
It was further demanded that the Jammu Kashmir residents be issued UN passports, and an entry point be opened at Mohra Dharoti Ceasefire Line under the auspices of the United Nations, granting free access to the people of Jammu Kashmir.
Social Media and Public Unity:
After March 15, through video, audio, social media, and diplomatic means, the communities across the Ceasefire Line in Jammu Kashmir, especially from Poonch, Mendhar, and Rajouri, will be invited to join the march and support the public effort for unity. Flag marches and awareness campaigns will also be organized at various points including Khoi Ratta, Mathrani, Dubsi Tatta Pani, and others.
Committees and Charter of Demands:
The 15-year-old Nakyal Ceasefire Line Committee will be reactivated to continue its struggle for the issues related to the Ceasefire Line and to advance the Charter of Demands.
Deadline for Pakistani Administration:
The meeting gave the Pakistani administered Jammu Kashmir government a deadline until midnight on March 19 to release Majnti Banday unconditionally and act upon the Charter of Demands. If not, the 23rd March Ceasefire Line Nakyal Mohra Dharoti Long March will take place, and the authorities will be held responsible for any consequences.
Issued by:
Jammu Kashmir National Peoples Party (NAP) Nakyal
Jammu Kashmir NSF Nakyal
Organized by:
Publicity Board for the March 23 Ceasefire Line Mohra Dharoti Nakyal Public Long March.
