declaring that the people of the ceasefire line do not want war or shelling
— they want peace.
Hundreds of white flags were raised across the region.
Jammu Kashmir National Awami Party (JK NAP) and Jammu Kashmir NSF have officially launched their peaceful campaign from the Nakyal sector Pakistani held Jammu and Kashmir.
JK NAP has appealed to the entire nation to raise white flags across the ceasefire line and other regions to collectively demand peace.
War itself is a problem. A conflict between Pakistan and India will, once again, lead to the mass killing of innocent civilians living along the ceasefire line in Jammu and Kashmir.
The current normalcy will disappear, and the people of Jammu and Kashmir will bear the brunt of any escalation.
The leaders strongly condemned the Pahalgam incident, declaring it not just an attack on Kashmir but on the entire state of Jammu and Kashmir.
The peaceful white flag demonstrators urged India to refrain from targeting unarmed civilians along the ceasefire line in Azad Jammu and Kashmir under the pretext of hitting terrorist hideouts.
They appealed to both India and Pakistan, as well as the United Nations, to avoid war and confrontation.
They called for dialogue sessions, efforts to curb terrorism and extremism, and emphasized that the land and people of Jammu and Kashmir
— especially those living along the ceasefire line — should not be made scapegoats.
The people of Jammu and Kashmir are engaged in a peaceful, democratic, and revolutionary struggle for their national freedom.
Residents of the ceasefire line have suffered irreparable losses.
JK NAP and JK NSF have always advanced a principled struggle rooted in national liberation and class questions.
The working class in both India and Pakistan does not support war.
The leaders stated that if shelling continues as per past patterns, every household along the entire ceasefire line will raise white flags,
and a large-scale peace march will be organized toward the UN Military Observer Group office in Muzaffarabad. Additionally,
white flag demonstrations will be held in front of the embassies of both countries in the UK, USA, Canada, and elsewhere.
During this time,
appeals were made to workers, trade unions, and human rights organizations across Pakistan, India, and the world to express solidarity with their cause.
The leaders emphasized that in these times of fear, silence is not an option.
They clarified that they are not against the security or existence of any country or nation
— they simply want their freedom, their right to live, and peace.
They warned that South Asia is currently sitting on a powder keg, and the key to regional peace lies in resolving the Jammu and Kashmir conflict.
Therefore, the first step must be the restoration of the unity of Jammu and Kashmir and the opening of all traditional routes across the ceasefire line.
On this occasion, a "Peace and Defense Committee –
LoC" was established, which will be expanded across all sectors of the ceasefire line.
Its Charter of Demands will be presented soon.
